The Arkansas Diabetes and Endocrinology Education Foundation (ADEEF) is organizing this contest to encourage Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialists (CDCES) in Arkansas to share their expertise in creating nutritious, diabetes-friendly meals. This initiative aims to foster a healthier eating culture among individuals with diabetes and make these beneficial recipes widely accessible to the Arkansas community.

Contest Details:

1. Eligibility and Participation: Open to all CDCES in Arkansas. Each participant can submit one recipe in each of the four categories: Breakfast, Lunch, Supper, and Holiday Recipes.

2. Categories of Recipes: Participants are encouraged to submit recipes under four categories - Breakfast, Lunch, Supper, and Holiday Recipes.

3. Submission Requirements:

- Clearly state the category for the recipe.

- Provide a complete list of ingredients and detailed cooking instructions.

- Attach a high-quality photo of the finished dish. Including a video of the preparation is optional but recommended.

4. Submission Deadline: Recipes must be submitted to contest@arkansasdiabetes.org by May 30th, midnight.

5. Website Posting: All eligible recipes will be featured on ADEEF’s website (https://www.arkansasdiabetes.org).

6. Voting System: Voting is open to patients and providers. Each patient vote counts as one, and each provider vote counts as five, ensuring a balance between public and professional opinions. The voting will open on June 15, midnight at the website https://www.arkansasdiabetes.org.

7. Prizes:

- First Prize: $500 each for the two most liked recipes.

- Second Prize: $300 for the next two highest-voted submissions.

- Third Prize: $100 for the next five subsequent highest-voted submissions.

8. Announcement of Winners: The winners will be announced during ADEEF’s annual meeting in September.

9. Promotion: The contest will be promoted through ADEEF’s social media, newsletters, partnering healthcare facilities, and community programs.

10. Recipe Accessibility: All submitted recipes will be available for free to the people of Arkansas, ensuring widespread access to healthy, diabetes-friendly meal options.

Post-Contest Follow-Up:

ADEEF will feature the winning recipes prominently on their website and consider them for inclusion in educational materials or cooking workshops. The contest's impact on promoting healthy eating habits within the community will be evaluated to enhance future health initiatives.
